Jack's Four Month Checkup

Four months already? I can't believe it. Yesterday was Jack's 4 month checkup and he is tracking in the normal range (whatever that is) for a healthy 4 month old baby. He weighs 13 lbs, 15 oz, is 24 5/8 inches long and his head is 17 inches in circumference. Mom-mom came down for the occasion and then stayed for dinner and bath and bed-time.

The most exciting part of the whole visit for ME was a) We got the ok to start solids! (this means you will soon be seeing lots of pics of Jack with food on his face) and b) I was told NOT to feed him in the middle of the night when/if he wakes up no matter what! He is supposed to be getting good at self soothing at this point so he will put himself back to sleep. Dare I hope for a decent night's sleep in the not so distant future? What a treat that would be!

So this weekend is a big deal with lots of new changes. The video camera is charged and ready to roll

We also had our first week of Mike being gone and Jack & I on our own without the help of mom-mom. It was an exhausting week but Jack was really good and we had some mommy and baby bonding time. My friend Danielle from work was sweet enough to bring some food for us for dinners for the week and also stop by the house on Monday and Tuesday so that I could take a shower and eat in peace while she visited with Jackson.

We are gearing up for a busy summer and so I am looking forward to one of our last weekends at home for the next 2 months or so without a real schedule of things to do or places to be. TGIF!
